At Glambymoi, we believe that flawless makeup starts with healthy, well-prepped skin. As professional makeup artists, we work with women of all ages, skin tones, and types. Our goal is to make sure every client looks and feels like the best version of themselves.

While we use the finest skincare and makeup products to create your perfect look, skin prep is key, even weeks before your appointment. For the best results, we recommend taking care of your skin in advance, especially when it comes to your lips. Dry, cracked lips can affect the smoothness of your lip color, so we always suggest exfoliating and moisturizing your lips to avoid flakes and discomfort during your session.

Our CEO and senior makeup artist always explains it like this: "Good skincare is like Spanx, for your face. It provides support and long-lasting results, just like Spanx smooths and lifts your body."

Makeup Preparation Tips

Arrive Makeup-Free
Please arrive with no makeup on, especially no mascara.
Exfoliate the Night Before
Exfoliate your face and lips the night before your appointment. This helps makeup sit smoothly on your skin. Follow your usual skincare routine the night before and the day of your makeup booking, focusing on hydration for both your skin and lips. (Most women, even those with oily skin, have dehydrated skin.)
Skin Hydration Is Key
We will always clean and apply professional, suitable skincare products that complement your makeup. Consistent skincare is essential, and facials months or weeks before your big day can make a huge difference. If you don't already have a skin routine, now's the time to start! The health of your skin will affect how your makeup sits and looks.
Spray Tan Tips
We are not a fan but, If you plan to have a spray tan for your wedding day, make sure to get one at least 3 days prior to your makeup booking. If you’re having a trial, this is a good opportunity to troubleshoot your spray tan and see how it works with your makeup, creating a healthy glow. Don’t worry if you’re not having a spray tan,it’s not a must! We’ll make sure to give your body a glowing finish with our favorite body glow products.
Hydrate Topically and Internally
Hydrate your skin with moisturizers and serums, and drink plenty of water, collagen, and vitamins. These are the magic ingredients for radiant skin.
Water is your best friend! Drink at least 2L of water daily, especially before your trial and wedding day. Hydrated skin makes a huge difference in how makeup will sit on your face.
Makeup Style
Bring a photo of how you wear your makeup day-to-day and for a night out. This helps us understand the style and amount of makeup you're used to.
What to Wear for Your Trial
Avoid wearing dark colors or black to your trial. Instead, wear a white top or dress, preferably without straps, as straps can leave marks on your skin and don't look great in photos, especially if we’re doing body makeup. Also, avoid turtlenecks or high-neck tops, as they make it difficult for us to apply makeup properly.
-
If you're wearing glasses, try not to wear them at least 30 minutes before your makeup session, so we can apply makeup without interference. Afterward, feel free to wear your glasses as usual!
-
Comfortable Clothing Consider wearing loose clothing, such as a robe, that’s easy to slip on and off. Avoid anything tight or that goes over your head, as it can mess up your makeup.
-
Socks and Marks If you plan to wear something short, please avoid wearing socks that leave visible marks on your skin. These marks won’t look great in photos, especially if we need to apply body makeup on your legs.
-
Discretion and Comfort Rest assured, our team is very discreet, and you don't need to worry about anything. We’re here to ensure you feel comfortable and look your absolute best!
Additional Skin Care Tips:

-
Avoid Sunburns
Sunburns can cause your skin to dry out and peel, which is almost impossible to hide with makeup. -
STOP EATING PORK many people have skin issues linked to pork consumption. For a smoother, calmer complexion, we recommend avoidin pork for a few weeks before your makeup appointment, as it can contribute to inflammation.
-
Skincare Regimen
If you don’t have a skincare regimen, now is the time to start! We’d love to help you find a routine tailored to your skin type. -
Eyebrow Maintenance
Whether you get your eyebrows threaded, waxed, or tweeze them yourself, make sure they’re maintained before both the trial and wedding day. We recommend getting your eyebrows done 1 to 1.5 weeks before your event. -
Avoid Skin Treatments Close to Your Wedding Day
Don’t plan on doing any major skin treatments or facials too close to your wedding day, as your skin may not be fully healed yet. You don’t want random red bumps or rashes in your photos!
-
Eyelash Extensions
Don’t try eyelash extensions for the first time just before the wedding, in case you have an adverse reaction to the lashes or glue. If you plan to do eyelash extensions, it’s helpful to have them done during your makeup trial so you can see how they look with your wedding makeup. -
Temporary Lashes Option
If you don’t want to commit to eyelash extensions, no worries! We can create a similar look with temporary fake eyelashes for a full, beautiful lash effect.

Groom the Groom
Often, the groom gets overlooked during the makeup preparations, but he wants to look great in photos too! Ask your makeup artist to even out his complexion or tone down the shine so he looks and feels great in your pictures.
